Pickleball is new to our community.  I play with two different groups and each has a different interpretation of who serves first when the opposing team commits its second fault.

One interpretaion is that the first server of the game is always the first server for that whole game.  This requires that sometimes the server on the left side of the court will start the serve when the opposing team has committed its second fault.

Now the rules state that the service always starts on the right side of the court.  So, the second interpretation holds that this is not only true for the very first serve of the game but for every time that the a team wins the serve.   If this is right then the very first server of the game may not be the first server in a subsequent series.  The even-odd rule for doubles play still holds if you concider only the very first server of the game.

Can you help us resolve our differences.  It would be nice for us all to be on the same page

FME,
The first server of the game does not serve first for the whole game. When a team gets back the serve, then whatever player is on right side of the court is the first server. Each time the first server serves from the right side the score should be even.
